September, 2006: Co-Occurring filter added to standard reports

A new filter has been added to most of the standard reports. This filter identifies admissions to clients with a co-occurring mental health disorder. It is available on all but the Treatment Expansion reports.
June, 2006: A new way to access treatment expansion reports

Instead of choosing from a list of titles, pictures of all treatment expansion reports are now available. Click on the picture of the report you want to begin the process of running that report. This change will provide users with a more intuitive way of getting the information they need.
June, 2006: Several new variables are now available in the Analyzer

  • A new category of entry referral variables has been added. Over 20 separate referral sources are available to query.    
  • Other new variables include expanded versions of secondary and tertiary substance used, residency type and age at 1st use    
May, 2006: Military Veteran variable now available in the Analyzer

Users can now run queries identifying those clients that have served time in the military. This new variable will allow users to monitor treatment provided to this important subgroup of clients.
May, 2006: Client Characteristics Report is now available

This report provides data on all clients in treatment on a user-selected day. It provides graphic and tabular data on demographics, risk factors and substance abuse patterns. It can run at the statewide, county and agency level and is available to all DASA-TA users.
May, 2006: Treatment Expansion Single Agency Report is now available

This report provides in-depth detail on expansion clients served for a single, user-selected agency. Monthly counts are broken out by expansion subpopulation (Aged, Blind/Disabled, etc.)
April, 2006: Treatment Expansion Agency by County Report is now available to DASA and county staff

This report provides monthly counts of new expansion clients served for each agency. The version of the report available to DASA staff provides data for all counties and all agencies within those counties. The version available to county staff contains data for all agencies within their county.
February, 2006: Two more Treatment Expansion Reports are now available to DASA staff

The Modality report counts expansion clients according to where they were served, and places them in one of two categories, either in 'Any Residential' or 'Outpatient Only'. The County Progress Report provides counts of clients served in each subpopulation for each county in the state. These new reports are currently availble to DASA staff only.
November, 2005: New Treatment Expansion Reports are now available

Two new Treatment Expansion reports are currently available. The first expansion report measures the total number of new expansion population clients served per month, and compares that number to the expected number served. The subgroup report shows clients served in each of the 4 expansion subpopulations (Aged, Blind/Disabled, GAU and TANF/Other Medicaid). These reports can be run at the statewide, region and county levels, for both adults and youth.
August 24, 2005: New fund source choices are now available on the standard reports

At DASA's request, a change has been made that allows users to choose a fund source for standard reports. Now, when running reports at the Governing County or Governing Region levels, users have a choice to run the reports for County Community Services funding only, or for all fund sources. After choosing Governing County as the geography, two radio buttons will appear below. Choose either County Community Services or All Fund Sources to run your report. NOTE: these fund source choices only appear if Governing County is chosen as the geography.
August 17, 2005: Unduplicated caseload counts and new smoking variables have been added.

  • Unduplicated counts are now included in both the Outpatient and Residential Caseload reports. The unduplication is based on the Client Identifier found in TARGET.    
  • Three new smoking variables have been added to the Analyzer. They can be found in the Physical/Mental Health category of variables.    
July 7, 2005: Outpatient Treatment Retention Report is now available:

This report measures the percentage of clients retained in treatment across time. Retention is a key measure of treatment effectiveness, since longer retentions have been associated with better outcomes. Also, this report has built-in comparisons: if run at a county level, county results are compared to statewide results. If run for a single facility, those results are compared to that facility's county and to the state.
April 28, 2005: Contract Type filter has been added:

On all standard report, users can now filter results using values of the contract type field.
April 15, 2005: All users can now run reports at the regional level:

Users can now run standard reports for any of the 6 regions within the state. This will allow people to compare their county or their facility to their region, or any other region.
April 5, 2005: A change to the Assessment Results report has been made:

The graph now includes only a single line showing the percent of those assessed as dependent that get into treatment. The table in that report remains the same.
March 15, 2005: An annual unduplicated count of admissions is now available in all admissions reports

In the Outpatient, Residential and Detox admission reports, annual unduplicated counts are now presented. The unduplication is done based on the Client Identifier found in TARGET.
March 3, 2005: More current data is now available in DASA-TA.

Data available to users used to be subject to a 3 month lag. That lag has now been eliminated.
February 9, 2005: New location variables have been added to the system. These are available in both Standard Reports and the Analyzer.

Counties and regions are now defined in 3 ways:
  • 'Governing county' or 'Governing region', based on the Governing County field in TARGET    
  • 'Residence county' or 'Residence region' based on the client residence county in TARGET    
  • 'Facility county' or 'Facility region' based on the facility county in TARGET    
January 4, 2005: New Intravenous Drug Use (IDU) filters are now available

Two IDU filters are now available on standard reports:
  • 'Recent Intravenous Drug Use' is defined as using needles in the last 30 days    
  • 'Any Intravenous Drug Use' is defined as ever having used needles    
September 1, 2004: A new version of DASA-TA is now available

This version retains much of the old functionality, but improvements have been made in the way queries are built and run. Other changes with the new system include:
  • An ADATSA filter for standard reports has been added.    
  • Footnotes explaining how filters are constructed have now been added to standard report output.    
  • Tabular versions of arrest and employment reports have been removed. The flowchart versions are still available.    
  • A 'Run Query' button has been added to the second tab of the Analyzer. If you typically use the same output format for query results, you can now submit queries from the second tab rather than the third.    
  • New users must now change their password on their initial login. The system will prompt you to make this change.    
May 30, 2004: A filter for Criminal Justice Special Project Codes has been added to the Standard Reports.

This filter allows users to limit their results to only those clients funded by specific projects. It is available on the Admissions, Caseload and Completion reports
April 30, 2004: A filter for TANF has been added to the Standard Reports.

This filter is available on the Admissions, Caseload, and Completion reports.
April 15, 2004: Changes have been made to the Residential Completion report

It can now be run for the following ages and modalities:
  • Adult Intensive Inpatient   
  • Adult Long-Term Care   
  • Adult Recovery House   
  • Youth Intensive Inpatient Level 1   
  • Youth Intensive Inpatient Level 2   
  • Youth Recovery House Levels 1 & 2   
March 31, 2004: Employment variables have been removed:

Pending data upgrades all employment variables have been removed from the system.
February 2004: New Standard Reports have been added:

  • Residential Treatment Admissions     This report displays the number of admissions into residential treatment over a 12-month period in both tabular and graphical form.
  • Residential Treatment Caseload   
  • Residential Treatment Completion   
August 15, 2003: New Standard Reports have been added:
  • Opiate Substitution Retention   This report displays how long opiate substitution clients remain in treatment. Retention rates are displayed for three, six, nine and twelve months following admission. The rates are broken down by a number of different demographic variables.
  • Outpatient Treatment Completion   This report displays the completion rate and length of stay for outpatient treatment.
August 7, 2003: Changes have made to the ethnicity variable in the Analyzer:
  • "Other" and "Unknown" have been combined under the "Other" label.
  • "Hispanic" has been added as a race. If the client indicated hispanic origin, the ethnicity field was changed to hispanic.

Note: The Hispanic Origin variable has been removed from the system.
July 29, 2003: New variables added to the Analyzer:
  • Governing and Facility county have been added to all topics. It is in the Treatment category of variables.
  • Youth Treatment Provider Level has been added to the Treatment category for Admissions and Discharges - Youth only.
July 25, 2003: Excluding DOC and Private Pay clients enabled in Analyzer.

There are now two new check boxes on the Analysis Topic selection tab of the Analyzer that allow the user to include/exclude DOC and private pay clients. Both populations are excluded by default.
